## Selection method

The inventory uses three parks in each of ten North Carolina cities not represented in the AuditMap starter dataset. A park qualifies as major when its managing authority documents at least two of these signals: community/regional classification, substantial acreage, multiple recreation functions, cultural or natural significance, citywide events, or a major trail/waterfront role.

Canonical names, addresses, agencies, and major-park evidence come from official municipal pages. Coordinates use exact municipal facility coordinates where published, otherwise an address/facility lookup from OpenStreetMap Nominatim; two unresolved OSM addresses use point-address results from the ArcGIS World Geocoding Service and are explicitly queued for review.

## Import guidance

- Import parks.json or parks.csv; both contain the same 30 canonical records.
- Review review-queue.json before production import. It separates aliases, entrance conflicts, and a parent/child duplicate risk from the clean dataset.
- Preserve official_source_url, source_checked_at, and coordinate provenance during transformation.
- No Google Maps, Yelp, or crowdsourced review content was copied.

## Reuse notes

Park facts were transcribed from public-agency sources. Coordinates are factual point data with the lookup provenance retained. OpenStreetMap-derived coordinates require downstream attribution consistent with the Open Database License if incorporated into a public database; see https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright. ArcGIS lookups are limited to two point-address validations and retain their query URLs.
